Boulbous cube extraction

Hello all,

I've come up against something i can't seem to wrap my head around doing.

1) We're trying to extract the central boulbous cube of 3 cylinders placed at 90deg from each other.

I can't get the split body tool to function on anything and all the other tools are giving me grief.

Feels like it's something that should be easy. Just remove the outer portions of the cylinders and keep the center that is all connected.

2) Any way we can keep the cylinder edges we're removing showing as ghosting?

Intersect.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Holy Moly.

That looks right. I'm just baffled on how you got there.

I can't get to replicate your result with my file using the combine tool in intersect mode.

Seems like the main difference is that you're starting from a single object, and I'm creating and trying to interface 3.

Am I creating a solid object with the way my cylinders are created/interfaced? Might that be why the program isn't cooperating?

Does that sound about right?

Your last two extrudes are set to join and you end up creating a single body. You need to change them to new body so you end up with three bodies, then you can use the boolean feature on them. Or as a shortcut, just set the last two extrudes to intersect.
