As already mentioned, Contact Sets is a very quirky command and can only be used in certain limited situations. The Contact Set between the Card and the Roller is having difficulty because for it function it has to control other Joints and another Contact Set. I do not have a solution to your issue but will try and come up with an idea, no promises.

As mentioned by @davebYYPCU earlier, maybe a Motion Study is the best bet here. Motion Studies are difficult to set up and run too fast but....

Edit: The attached model will function now but I had to limit the contact of the lever roller and the card by changing the rest position of the lever arm. Contact Sets are very poor when used to control other outside joints and this is a good example. The motion is limited so it probably will not do the job for you. Model is attached.

I'm new to joints and assemblies but finding the joining and movement of components fairly straightforward. But what I can't find is how to have one component move to engage/touch another component then have that 2nd component move using its joint to its grounded component.

Do you have an assembly that you would like to see this movement in? If so please attach it. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Simple systems use Motion Link. Example, meshing gears.

More complex systems, would need Motion Study.

This is just the one component in a much larger file so I thought I'd just send this screen shot as I think it's easy to see my issue Both the lever and the actuator button have the appropriate joints and motion so when that lever is rotated up against the button I'd like to see the button depressed a fixed distance.

Hope this makes sense

For that assembly you will get away with contact set. Anything more complex, contact sets are not recommended.

That's pretty cool but both components are moving simultaneously. Ideally, I'd like the lever only to move until it engaged the button, then the button is depressed. Is that possible?

Contact Sets can be a bit weird if used in abundance and in combination with other joints. In this case, as @davebYYPCU mentioned, it is the best choice. In the attached assembly you can exercise the lever and the button will be depressed. The button has a Rest position on it to return it to position.

Next time you post, it really helps to send along your model, even if you have to cut it out of another, to help get a quick answer relative to your question. My mock-up model is attached.

Can I ask one more question? When I slide the card down with the new contact function, why does it stop when it engages the roller at the end of the lever, instead of pushing the lever back?
