Best Practice For Cabinet Fitting Hole Cutouts

Hello, I'm new to Fusion and trying to find the best practice for creating pattern cut outs for certain fittings (Lamello Cabineo in this case) in cabinetry.

I have downloaded a DWG of the Cabineo fitting from the website and uploaded it to Fusion where I can view it and import it into the cabinet model successfully. However, I'm struggling to find the workflow for using that fitting and cutting out the shape of it from the base panel.

In the attached image you can see the base panel and the two side panels of the cabinet, as well as the Cabineo fitting highlighted at the front left. The fitting shape should be cut out of the base panel for CNC machining.

The fitting should fit flush to the surface of the base panel and I would like to pattern this so that there is one at each corner of the base panel where it would connect to the sides. They would sit 30mm from the front and back edges of the base panel.

What is the best way to acheive this?

Not reviewed the file due to the content of the picture.

Your cabinet is currently 3 bodies in top component,

should be 2 independent components.

Model 1/4 of the base plate, half of one side piece,

Joint the imported fitting,

Combine > Cut the fitting from the Components.

Mirror the base plate body, twice.

Pattern the side Component.

The file in particular is very useful for me to step through and see exactly what each step is doing. It really is exactly what I needed at this point at the start of my learning journey with Fusion and it is much appreciated.

Hi all,

I am still fairly new to Fusion and have been making progress overall but am stuck with something that was discussed in this post. I was able to create a test file (uploaded for reference) and follow the directions as described. The issue I have is that I am using the Lamello Cabineo 8 M6 which has a metal insert installed in the mating piece which requires an 8 mm dia. x 15.3 mm deep hole. When I insert>Combine Cut I do the horizontal piece first, then repeat it on the vertical to get teh insert hole. The issue is the hole is the cabineo screw size and not the insert diameter.

I have wo questions:

1. Is this the creect process the get both the insert and cabineo connector pockets? If not, is ther a better way.

2. What would you suggest to get the correct diameter hole for the insert? I usually use a lot of them and want to be as efficient as possible.
