I see that the Development team has decided to add a home tab that is virtually identical to the home tab in Inventor 2026.

In doing so they copy some of the same problems with the Hub selection as Inventor has in project selection. The side bar is way too small and you can't resize it. While this is less of a problem in Fusion than Inventor this is still an added inconvenience (it is absolutely atrocious within the Inventor environment, thankfully Fusion presents projects in a more logical manner).

See example below:

In the pulldown menu anything named team hub takes up all but 3 or 4 of the available letters. Any other longer team names are also cut off. If one wants to view the whole name you have to hover your mouse over each one and wait a second for it to appear.

Hopefully there are plans to update the 'members and permissions tab' to be useable within Fusion? Seems

I'm spending some more time in the home panel. More puzzles:

Why are there not the same pinned projects as there are in the data panel? This seems like it would be a useful feature that users would want to maintain? I know I do.

Why can't you access the data panel when the home tab is open?

Why when I access the data panel am I not automatically within the same project and folder/subfolder that I just accessed via the home tab?

I can't use the home tab to insert external components into my active ones.

The grid view option doesn't support longer words in titles, and the available width is wasted with a large white space next to the 3 dot menu items. It takes up a lot of screen space just for the actual content to be unreadable without hovering over.

I get that the idea of this home tab is to create a familiar safe space for users of other Autodesk products but this doesn't integrate at all. It feels tacked on and half baked. Instead of enhancing the data panel we all know and use this just adds a useless feature.

Now that I think about it, it feels exactly like so many other Autodesk products. Slapped on interfaces that can't maintain a persistent theme and principles of operation. Just like AutoCAD, just like Inventor, and almost as bad as Advance Steel.

I feel the same way and left some of the same questions in this thread. The date/file management in Fusion is completely incohesive!

It would appear to me that they are following internal UI guidelines that are just not good!

UI flexibility and configurability are not on Autodesk's radar. AI nonsense is!
