Breakout view limitation

Apparently, creating a breakout view for any other view from base is limited to one breakout view in any view. What is the reasoning for this terrible limitation? Is it a function of the "Not for Commercial use" or is it for all options of Fusion 360? If it is a limitation for Non-commercial, okay, it's a bad idea, and should be re-evaluated. If this limitation exists in Fusion 360 products, it's a product design issue that should be addressed. Many large machine tools will require multiple breakout views within a single view to accurately represent hidden details in a specific area within a larger view. One such machine comes to mind. The broaching systems used to machine automotive engines and transmissions. Some of those broaching systems will have frames 20 ft. long with several areas needing breakout views to dimension the details. Why would this feature have a limit at all?

Thanks for your time

Mike B.

I have the same limitation on a Commercial License. As to why it exists, I can't answer that, but would also appreciate the ability to have multiple breakout views. I've just had to resort to placing multiple base views for each required breakout.

Thanks for the reply bwalker145.

This is a terrible oversight for drawing/documentation engineering needs. Working for Autodesk as an Application Specialist during the development of Mechanical Desktop and Inventor, we constantly reviewed documentation tools for accepted standard drafting and documentation practices, to ensure these drafting functions were in the products. Although this workaround for creating a series of breakout views works, it needs to be addressed as soon as resources are available. The ability to create multiple breakout views is a common operation with large parts and assemblies in almost every industry that uses CAD tools.

In short, it took about 3 times as long to create the breakout views as compared to Inventor. Inventor is not an option for me any longer, I may, with Fusion, still be inside the learning curve.

The Fusion Drawing environment is definitely in need of some attention to properly flesh out details and functions that I feel are necessary for it to be effectively utilized in a commercial environment. As you mention, the bare minimum should be capability to implement base industry standards (ASME / ISO), but even that's not fully possible and is a glaring deficiency. Technical drawings are such a critical part of effectively communicating design intent between cross-functional teams & suppliers.

I appreciate the Fusion team's commitment to continuous improvement and introduction of features, but I do wish they'd dedicate more resources to building a strong product foundation, before shifting focus to items that seem to be more about marketing than function (AI, Autoconstrain, etc). Can't let the shareholders go hungry....
