topic How to change the revolute joint snap point when using "Between Two Faces"? in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

I have an assembly where a door is fit in a frame. There is a small margin, so no faces are touching directly. I can joint the door in place easily with the "Between Two Faces" selection: the door is now centered between the left and right door post, and aligned at the bottom.

But I want the door to pivot of course. And if I change the joint I just made to "Revolute", it will rotate around the middle of the door (the snap position I made with the selection tool).

How can I still center the door, but have it rotate around a different point?

Please attach your model. Open in Fusion, select the File menu then Export and save to your hard drive. Attach the file to a reply post. If your file is a F3Z file you may have to Zip it first.

My bad, I thought the situation was basic enough.

This is a small part in a larger model I don't want to share yet, but I made a demo that still shows exactly this problem. I updated the original post: download link.

Note that in my demo this could be avoided with an "As-Built Joint", but in my real case it's a linked component instead, so it's not an option.

Thanks!

Thank you for this very clear video! Indeed, using an offset in the joint is one solution. And using parameters would save me from having to define a dimension twice (as a derived dimension).

I'm guessing there's no way to separate the revolution axis from the "Between Two Faces" selection option then?
