Hollow a Section (not Shell)

Hello all,

First post as a registered user - feels weird LOL.

Anyway, I have sections of 50mm box section making up supports for a frame. I need to hollow (shell) it out.

The problem is I have no perpendicular faces to start the command, notice the 'angle' at the end of the section.

The image below is side on - in-situ.

I have twelve of these to do - is there a recommended workflow to achieve this? Having to setup angled planes, create Sketches, project faces, offset edges and extrude (cut) will be a right PITA.

A 3d Offset would be ideal - click on the body and enter a thickness done.

Use the shell feature and pick the entire body in the browser, not in the viewport.

It "can" be done in the viewport, but the visual feedback of what has been picked (face or body) can be somewhat ambiguous.

Is there an option or easy procedure to extend the shell command to include the ends ?

Probably. Please share your model in .f3d format, so I can demonstrate with your geometry.

Export your design as a .f3d and attach it to a post.

Hi! If the whole body could be considered an extruded body, I would assume "Shell -> remove the faces at both ends" should work. Please share the f3d file here. The forum experts can help take a look.

I originally tried method one but it seemed to reference one of the face angles and not the 'tube'.

Method 2 was what I did from posts above and what I was referring to in a previous post.
