Thanks Kacper! However, I think we're talking about different things.

This is the profile I'm sketching, seen as a sweep plane.
But I have the feeling it can be done easier and more precise, as I do not have that much control over 3D-sketches.

Hi all!

I am aiming to make something similar to this: a sort of profile attached to a spiral for a snack dispenser.

It seems like an easy enough design. I managed to make the base shape following the shape of the spiral. However, I am having difficulty making an adjustable "push" profile (the V shape in the picture).

Currently I am sketching the V-shaped profile onto the 'walls' by using a 3D sketch, and the using a sweep surface (perhaps a loft would be better so that the shape does not angle) and then a cut-body. But I have the feeling that it can be done a lot easier and more parametrically.

Any tips on how to tackle this would be more than welcome!

Thank you,
Danny

Hi

You can thicken the surface of the spiral (join to another body) and trim it (viewed from the front it is a regular circle).

Hi! Thank you for your help! The shape is a tricky one however, as the "V" should point in the direction of the main axis of the spiral (so 90 degrees and curved from how it is in your screenshot).

I ended up using an alternative software, as I found that the loft function in Fusion also made the walls curve too much for my liking, and I did not have the time left to figure out why that kept happening.

It's a nice challenge! I am determined to figure out how to solve this in Fusion as well. I'll attach the file a bit later this week and keep you posted!

Thank you for your help again.

If the goal is to keep the V-profile aligned with the spiral axis, Loft and 3D sketches are likely overcomplicating it.
A cylindrical Emboss workflow fits that intent much better.
