Trying to design a bread proofing basket

I'm trying to design a basket that has walls that have a profile, but given that the top is a different shape than the bottom, I cannot figure out how to do it other than each individual strand. I'm thinking there has to be a better/easier way to do it.

Any help will be appreciated.

Create another tapered Surface, with the spacing to achieve the graduated size of the strands. Using a 2-tangent circle, you can add the strand circles easily and then join them together with tangent constraints. I may have got the size of the circles going the wrong way but you will get the idea. If you want the strands to intersect more between them, simply overlap the circles eliminating the tangent between them and adding a dimension. Model attached.

I want all the strands from the top to the bottom to be the same diameter; 8 mm diameter but overlap 2 mm.
Do I still have to draw all the circles or is there a way create a pattern?

No, take a look at the Sketch Rectangular Pattern, It uses the projection of one surface as the direction of the pattern. Model attached.

I noticed another thing that I cannot figure out how to fix. There is a gap that forms as it sweeps around the curve. This is because the top curve is not the same as the bottom one. How do I get the the sweep to follow exactly the shape of the sheet body?
