I think we are all a little confused about your workflow here. Maybe you can help us understand. You said:

"i designed a part in 360 and then exported it to bambu but now i am trying to modify the part but it wont let me convert it back to a solid without all of the faccets"

We are wondering why you are trying to convert from mesh -> solid if you already have a Fusion design that is a solid - this is what you exported to Bambu. Just go back to that original part, edit it, and re-export the edited version.

In general mesh -> solid is an incredibly hard conversion, and you should never use that workflow for anything non-trivial, especially if you already have a solid, native version of the part.

Also, you said: "and it keeps crashing the whole application". Is it an actual crash (do you get the crash reporting dialog)? If so, did you send those reports in? Or, is it that the mesh is so large that whatever operation you are attempting is just taking a very long time to complete, and if you let it go, it might eventually finish. Crashing and being very busy are different states.

Okay, so i designed a part in 360 and then exported it to bambu but now i am trying to modify the part but it wont let me convert it back to a solid without all of the faccets and it keeps crashing the whole application. Any alteritives? I feel like it shouldnt be this hard.

Hi! The behavior you described sounds like bad mesh related. Or the number of mesh elements far exceeds what Fusion can process. Have you tried repairing and simplifying the mesh? Please share the file here. The forum experts can help take a look.

Many thanks!

Yes, there are over 10,000 mesh elements once i coverted it from solid to mesh. Guessing thats why it continues to crash the whole application. However i am confused on why i cant just make it a solid in the same application it was designed in. Also for some reason once i open it in 360 again it is 10x the size of the original design. Thank you for the help.

I did have the design in fusion, and i exported it to bambu and then closed fusion and forgot to save the original file to Fusion. So i only have the .stl file that was exported to bambu. Now i am trying to convert that file back to a solid so i can edit it with a different design. When converting to solid it will only let me convert with the faceted method, if i try any other method it tells me it just cant do it. Usually crashes when i am trying to edit it with the 10,000+ facets. Guessing like you said that it is just to complicated for fusion now. Is there any other way that i can make that .stl file back into a solid i can actually edit?
