topic Mesh section sketch does not create closed profiles in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

Maybe (hopefully) this is straightforward: Imported a mesh, created offset planes with mesh sections (about 10 planes/sketches). Double clicked on those mesh section sketches and created some sketch lines based on the mesh sections. I did this using freehand modeling, did not use the "fit curves to mesh section", though the end problem is the same either way.

The problem is that no profile I create on those sketches is closed. Even if I just use the circle tool off somewhere to the side of what I am working on, that circle is not a closed profile. That is a problem!

Other sketches work fine, and if I create another sketch right on top of the mesh section sketch and project the mesh section sketch, the profile becomes closed. Is that the intended functionality? If that is the intended functionality, then I would need 10 mesh section sketches and then another 10 projected sketches in order to continue with modeling?

Thanks!

Please attach the Mesh model you are having issues with.

"Is that the intended functionality?"

No - there should be nothing different about a sketch containing a mesh section than any other sketch. As @jhackney1972 asked - if you can share a design that shows the problem, that would be helpful.

One quick check: In the sketches containing the mesh sections, is "Show Profile" checked? If that somehow gets switched off, it can explain what you are seeing.

Argh! That is it! The "profile" button was not enabled. I have no idea why that checkbox got unchecked, but evidently it was. The profiles show up fine now. Thank you!
