How to remove a section from a solid

Sorry I am very green to this but I was wondering how can I remove the section in red?

I thought intuitively it's a easy thing to do but for some reason I tried for many hours without success.

Things I have tried so far:

Use offset face
Use an angle plane
Use split body using a box

Can someone help me? Much appreciated.

Is that body a converted solid from an STL body?

Extrude the triangle face back to the alignment you want.

If still a Mesh body, make a new body the shape you wish to remove and use Combine > Cut.

Yes it is a converted solid from STL file. I had to generate face then convert to mesh.

The easiest way is to simply model it from scratch.

You'll need two sketches and two extrudes.

Use this file as a reference for measuring dimensions.

It will take you two minutes, and the operation history will be clean and legible.

Who created the original stl file?

It has several intersecting faces.

I would use only as reference in creating proper geometry from scratch.

It is so poorly done that it is difficult to determine the true Design Intent.

Give it a try from scratch and ask a lot of questions here - you will get real intelligent guidance instead of artificial intelligence hallucinations.

Take a look at this.

You just need to assign real dimensions to the sketch and extrude, which you'll read from your file.
