A Solid Sweep is done with a Body, but I would not use stl mesh rubbish for this.

I created it in another software the thing I created in fusion is the disc on the right. I have an image of the two jaws that’s how I created them

I recommend that you create all of the geometry natively in Fusion.

Ask questions as you go along (don't wait until you are drowning in deep water).

You can probably use the same image in Fusion on a Canvas.

This is the original image I added the hock like buttons as a band mechanism to hold the two jaws together.

For a beginner, my strong recommendation would be to first go through one of the free tutorial courses accessible from within Fusion:

While I have not reviewed that material recently, my guess is that it does not include a solid sweep through a converted .stl file.

There are literally thousands of threads on this forum that report problems with .stl files, because triangulated meshes are NOT how CAD software represents geometry.

You might get lucky, with this approach, but is it s not a good workflow!

First thing I did was create a sketch with a 4-sided polygon to give sense of scale.

Then I insert the image on a Canvas

Next I Calibrate the image...

Then I Edit Canvas to get the top line close to Horizontal...

Then I start tracing the image.

Keep geometry as simple as possible.

Use lines and arcs rather than splines where possible.

Use a few points in splines as possible (adjust the node Handles).

All of this is well beyond beginner level endeavor.

Note that part of your sketch is shaded blue while other areas are not.

This indicates openings in the sketch.

Zoom way in on the white dot(s) indicated by the arrow.

What do you observe?

Now do your Extrusion.

(I would probably do two Extrusions (you would have to turn the visibility of the sketch back on) even though you could do it in one Extrusion since the bodies are separated.)

Then continue on with the pins.

what do you think about the mechanism I was suggesting? Do you think it’s reasonable? Or should I approach it in a different way?

as this would mean it will be open from both sides and I would need to somehow figure away to close it.
