Hi,

im creating the armband for a smartwatch and i want to 3d print it in place with the curvature of the armband already "baked in".

Now i want to slim down the armband towards from the full width on top where the watch part is, down towards the clasp.

One way would be to loft the armband along a curve, but i wonder if there isnt a simpler way of projecting a sketch with cutlines along the curved surface...

Cheers F.

Create a sketch on the rectangular face at the bottom of the image. Project the body to the sketch. Draw a line at the angle you want to trim the body to. Mirror it (assuming the origin is at the center). Use those lines in a split body command.

Yes I thought about that and what i used for the mockup, but the cut wont follow the curve well in some parts.

But that

Just change the straight lines to control point splines and make them tangent to the surface at the top.
