Hi! If I understand you request correctly, I suspect you are looking for Texture Extrude command. To enable TE, you will need to change the edit mode to Direct Edit. In the Mesh Design environment, right-click on the top node in the browser -> scroll to the bottom -> Change to Direct Edit. After that, go to Modify tab -> Texture Extrude. TE command allows you to select an image and protrude mesh according to the grey levels.

Many thanks!

Hey everybody,

I have an already made object that I would like to carve/engrave/emboss an image onto the surface so that there is geometric data when I export the object as an STL file. I have already created a solid from a heightmap (using the Surface2Image plugin, and converting the mesh), but I am unsure what operation to use to create actual geometry on the object. The object its self is in two parts and I need to keep them from fusing together.

I am currently working with limited computational power, which has resulted in long wait times due to how many faces I need to select at one time.

Thank you in advance for any help.
