Expandable Ring Toy Design

Hi everyone! I found this expanding ring on maker world https://makerworld.com/models/1330064 ;

Im interested in learning how to design its mechanism. Any idea on How I could design it in fusion360? I've extruded my sketches on to thin extruded circles through surfaces. I feel like im close; but stuck at the hinges. Are the hinges supposed to be curved or straight? any advice is much appreciated!

Suspect you need one Slider Joint, I also suspect that Fusion can model a closed and an Open version, but will not easily animate it, due to real life sloppy Joints, and Fusion being too accurate for those.

I do think you will get it with 3 ball joints to join one piece to others, (Not my nightmare).

Ha, yeah. Trying to do isometric graphics with NES character graphics. That was a fun project though, small team and we got it out real quick. Got to play a lot of the stand-up version which we had in the office. 192.168.1.254 https://100001.onl/
