Sure if you want a quick tutorial. It's going to be different.

How to actually go from Form to Body. Body to Mesh.

First build a form. I like 3x3 squares. That I edit and then subdivide the middle square to 3x3. This creates a unique form where the middle is always there and I can scale to uniform. It's very playdoh. Then you can subdivide directly the middle. For example. And delete the unwanted half. This example is 1 mm thick. You can scale to leave out the X axis to make it larger. I just use the thicken tool. And, for some reason it connects the edges. If you thicken than delete. You can use bridge edges or merge edges. All the same. Finish form. Then you get a body. Switch to Mesh from the solid tab. Click Tessellate. By the default settings this mesh created 31456 Triangles. Click ok. Preview off or on. Done. 4:32 four minutes and seconds. The video is recorded for windows. You can't actually see the detailed buttons or settings that I press. You don't get to see the full UI. As of now I have no other way to record anyway.

<video-js data-video-id="6338987808112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

It's not the problem. You can try what ever you want. The problem is creating the Mesh. Or sometimes converting that mesh to a solid body. Because a mesh Primarily triangles. There's a knowledge based article explaining support for Plug-ins for developers. Or at least manufacturers. Hands down. This is the best example where you get the results you desire. And the loss of the shape is around 95 percent. Even if the computer considers it 0.
Your problem is a little different. I don't have a sample ready yet. Because I figured I give you a reasonable way to fix your problem instead of explaining what you did wrong.

Well. Here's a regular file that I can upload of several samples you may want to look at. I added a normal tessellation with Quads for reference. Either that's new or I didn't notice that. But, it should give you an idea of the difference in squares and triangles that this program has to produce. And, just out of math closures circles, squares and triangles are different. And, you can't always fit them together. So you're not really going to get much work done.
