Profil Problem

I am not new to Fusion, but have been away from it for a considerable amount of time. What I am experiencing is probably very basic, but it is driving me nuts.

I have created a shape in Fusion using the sketch creation program provided. This shape is is made up of a number of straight lines and curves that should be easy enough to join, to provide me with a profile that can be revolved to give me the component that I need.

However, I cannot select the areas I want to revolve and I believe that it is because the lines that make up these areas are not connected. I have tried everything that I know, but cannot find a way to connect them.

Any help that I can get would be greatly appreciated.

please share the design here. My guess is that you have gaps in your profile. It will be easier to debug if we have your design. Export your design as a Fusion Archive (F3D) and attach it to a reply here.

When the lines and arcs are connected, Fusion will hide those white dots on the outline.

Hi,

Don't forget that the Revolve command works a little differently dependent upon if you are

trying to create a surface or a solid.

Take a simple sketch.

The Revolve Solid command will not work in the present form because there is not enough

information.

That is because there is not a profile to revolve.

If I change to Surface, this revolve restriction does not happen.

I can create a solid by simply using the Thicken command.

If I want to create something similar directly as a solid then I need to close the

profile and then revolve. Sort of like I need a closed profile to extrude a solid, I

also need a profile to revolve the solid.

Close the ends and I have a profile filled with light blue so it is a closed shape.

When I go back to Solid workspace and revolve, I have a profile.

Which I revolve around the same axis.

And I end up with an identical shaped solid.

Just make sure that you lines in your sketch are connected. You can use the Coincident

Constraint if you are not sure.

As suggested by others -

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

This will be an easy one to diagnose and solution will show how to avoid in the future.
