My expectations as a user?

I have the expectation to have a working offset funtion. Even if strucures not overlapping yet, function is blocking after some µm in whatever direction. on my PC Offset doesn´t work at all with "loop select".

By the way to me offset is very important even if some edges are overlapping/self intersect. Having some overlaps is not unusual and other softwares are dealing with this also.

And what does adapt. snapping have to do with that? And why I am restricted then? Does the program warns me: "Hey you are using adaptive snapping so do not try to use offset!"

- By the way it just solved the problem not. in the inside it works better but to the outside it does not work any better. -

Curently I am a little bit disappointed: software crashes nearly "feeled" every two hours. Creating inconsistent bodys. And every crahs I do loose hours of working, becacuse i still do not get the functions for "savie as" models and have to relie on the autosave of the cloud. all this crashin, "importing into cloud" and having no control about the own files bothers me extremly. And what will be when beta test is over? To be honest I just installed fusion 360 to recover my former models as .stp or whatever compatible file. But nearly a half of my "old" files could be translated for fusion 360! And I did still not found out how to export models into compatible files for whatever software I have to use later (!?) after the beta.

For whatever reason I did decide to give fusion 360 a chance but still have the feeling that I just want have back "inventor Fusion 2013"

I am doing that all just for fun, but fun to me looks somehow different...

I do not know if this is special to my version, but working of the Offset funktion woorks really poor! To be honest it is unusable, when used with "loop select" on. When i am lucky it works some millimeters but rearly ist works as it should do.

does anyone have the same problem? or better a solution then "do not use it"?

The warning indicates that you have reached the maximum allowable offset before the profile will "overlap" or "self-intersect." In what way does the tool's behavior differ from your expectations?

If you are receiving the error message slightly before you are expecting it, you may consider disabling the Adaptive Snap, see below. Hope this helps.

Re: Offsets function nearly unusable?!

I find that the offset tool performs in a very similar fashion to Autodesk Inventor (which I'm very used to).

The sketch offset tool appears to fails when there is a fundamental change to the generated profile or sketch geometry inverts, or 'flips' in on itself with with Loop select option enabled. I note that the error reads "Cannot Offset Beyond this Point."

The Loop select option is intended to speed up the common workflow of offsetting closed profiles. The user only needs to make one selection with the Loop select option versus selecting each individual sketch figure (line, arc, spline, etc... ) in the profile. In some scenarios, due to the nature of the loop select, it may hinder the successful creation of a sketch offset.

From your comments, it sounds like what you may be looking for is the ability to multi-select sketch lines for a non-Loop select offset via a selection box or something similar. This would enable you to quickly select more geometry in a non-Loop offset. Or ... would you prefer an option similar to Loop select, but would ignore the"Cannot Offset Beyond this Point" errors and create geometry despite possible closed profile errors?

Do you have a sample file that you could upload to this thread as an example? It will help deepen the understanding of the issue.

As for the stability issues, have you try disabling the display setting effects to see if it makes a difference?

Here is a link on how to export both an entire project and a specific design to the .f3d format which can be used later in Fusion360. It also discusses the end of the Fusion360 beta.

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Using-Autodesk-Fusion-360/Beta-is-ending-soon-time-to-export-your-designs/td-p/3929603

Otherwise, from within the workspace, you can use the Export function to export to the standard translation format, see the bleow image.

Note: The Export Archive feature available from the same menu will allow you to export to Fusion360's .f3d format.

If you upload a problematic file that could not be imported into Fusion360, I will be happy to investigate and see if I can provide any assistance with the import.

Thanks for your feedback and time on this! I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,
