How to split mesh

Hey guys, I have this huge cluster of mesh bodies. I am hoping to split them into different parts rather than being a huge cluster. Does anyone know how can I achieve that?

those look like mesh bodies. I assume they show up in the Bodies folder. If so, just right click on that folder and choose "Create Components From Bodies":

Not exactly. This program is a stutter. I accidentally ended up doing this anyway. I guess this comes to the ability of comparing meshes, forms and bodies.

In mesh tool select generate face groups. Then select separate in the modify group. You get options. Mesh shells, select faces, select face groups, or just all face groups automatically.

This was ofcourse only beneficial to me. Because it was a scala model. And I had to repair the surface.

You're welcome. I'll attach a sample project. But, it's useless. I unfortunately do not have history recorded there. For some reason. It's missing.

you're twisting my words. it was a scala model. mesh objects opened with Fusion 360 don't capture history.

not to mention this file is supposed to contain YBF/I texture maps.

Why don't you impress the entire community. I forgot which file this is supposed to be. I'm pretty sure asteroid copy.

I am old and retired now (and probably forgotten half of what I once knew) - I don't need to impress anyone.

If you have a question - it would have been better to start a new discussion thread with a link back to this one for reference.

See the Timeline.

First step - Enable Capture Design History

Step 2 Run Repair on the imported obj geometry. (Might not be necessary, but in any case, reading the Timeline we see that operation was performed).

Step 3 Run Remesh on the imported obj geometry. (Might not be necessary, but in any case, reading the Timeline we see that operation was performed).

Step 4 Run Reduce on the imported obj geometry. (Might not be necessary, but in any case, reading the Timeline we see that operation was performed).

Depending on Design Intent - the next step might be to convert from a mesh body to a solid body...

Do you see how the Timeline History can be followed using the Previous Step/Next Step play

or by simply dragging the playhead?

You can also right click (or double click) on any feature in the Timeline and select Edit Feature...
