Well, we do have tool path creation and CAM as an integral part of Fusion 360- I for one would be interested in knowing if lathe support is planned.

Lathe (turning) support is on our roadmap. Thanks for letting people know there is a CAM-specific forum - we all work together on the Autodesk side, and we'll grab folks from our CAM team when needed, so no need to be overly concerned about where you post.

Totally understandable in regards to Lathe functionality. One nice feature that is coming out in the November 15th release is the ability to select cylindrical stock, if that could be of value. We've had lots of request for that as well.

The Fusion 360 lathe CAM section is beautifully logical in the sequence of operations, and I have modelled some complicated projects. Unfortunately I am running Mach3 Turn I am obliged to use the Generic Fanuc post processor and then play around with the output. Does anyone know of a bespoke post processor for Mach3 Turn, or whether Autodesk will be issuing one any time soon?

I've tried to help a few people customise a post for mach3 turn but it's not been easy. Either they don't come back so you don't know it it's working or they have no idea about G code or mach3 and it's impossible to get it sorted. The problems are mostly to do with arcs and whether the tool is at the front or back. What problems are you having and are you able to correct the code from the fanuc post to show where the problems are.

Have you done a search on the CAM forum, someone did post up a post they were using.

The problem seems to be mach or perhaps just the people trying to set it up have not looked at how other controls work. I have 2 lathes one with a Fanuc control and one with a cheap Chinese Fanuc clone both have the tool nearest the operator. In this configuration a lot of the mach3 people have it set up so X is minus, this seems wrong. On my machines I just program a diameter say 30mm I don't program -30mm. Having the X reversed also reverses arc direction so it gets even more confusing.

If you can hand code a simple part then it is easy enough to modify the post to match but just throwing code into the machine and seeing what happens is quite a challenge if you can't manually program G code and modify posts.
