Dear Members,

My name is JR and I am new to this forum. I have been using Fusion 360 for a few months and I must say that it is a great tool for hobby and open source projects (I used to work with Freecad).

I am currently working on developing a small VTOL plane. I use an 80 mm PVC tube as basis for the fuselage. In this PVC tube I need to drill holes, so I can mount some brackets to it. I designed all mounting holes in a 3D model I made from the PVC pipe.

I would like to print the hole pattern on paper, so I can glue it to the outside of the PCVC tube. In this way, I can easily drill the holes on the correct locations, however, I am not sure if making such a drawing is possible?

Is this possible? If yes, can you please give me some advice to get me going.

Thanks,

JR

Take a look at the video to explain the process. As I mentioned in the video, you may have to adjust the tangent plane and/or the sketch split to keep the sheet metal gap away from your holes. The size holes is up to you, the smaller the better for drill lineup. I used 10mm holes just for demo.

Let me know if you have any questions.

<video-js data-video-id="6339676013112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

Just stopping by. Learned a lot from your video. I guess if you added some cross center geometry to the holes in the drawing it would be easier to get the drilling dead center with a pilot hole first.

I am just amazed by you helpful guys at this forum. So helpful and patient with us newbies. Have a nice day.
