Upload Slow and/or Failures

Using the upload workflow for bringing existing models into F360

I'm seeing very poor performance.

looooog upload times and failures

Even a tiny text (.txt) file is slow/failing

Anyone else?

Hi Brian!
i had som problems with that aswell, the solution for me was to do i "clean" reinstall. then it worked.
I dont know why it did't work in the first place, but i hope that the people at autodesk is looking in to this...

Clean Uninstall Directions:

This will manually delete all the Fusion files on your system.

Before doing a clean please collect the log files using the help menu and send them to me. that way we can debug what may be going wrong.

I'm seeing the same problem. I've tried uploading ~10 Inventor files--all failed. Converted all of them to STEP files in Inventor--all uploads failed. Opened all of the STEP files in SolidWorks successfully. Reconverted the SolidWorks STEP file imports into STEP again. Uploaded the SolidWorks STEP files--successful.

Can someone look into this as I don't really want to perform a uninstall/clean reinstall? I'm especially concerned about the Inventor imports b/c that's what I really need. Thx.

A clean reinstall seems to have resolved my issue.

I suggest we follow schneik's advice (above) and collect/send the diagnostic logs _before_ doing a clean reinstall so Autodesk has something to help them sort this out.

You can get them by using the Diagnostic log file command form the help drop down menu (see image below).

They will help us analyze what may be happening.

Well, apparently that worked. The Inventor and Inventor generated STEP files that previously failed to upload, uploaded successfully. Enlcosed is the log file.

I am having files load for hours. Is there any way besides doing a clean install to get around this problem?

Hi Matt,

I took a look at our logs for the models which are mentioned in your log (Tesla Plate.dwg and Tesla Plate.dxf).

Both of these files failed to translate into Fusion 360 format, there should be PDF files containing additional information on what failed in your side panel. (If you don't see them, you might need to hit the Refresh button).

If you aren't sure why the translation of these files failed, you could send one to us for investigation.

Hi Lew,

I went digging into the log files you supplied and am seeing something interesting both in your logs and in our server side logs. Specifically, values which we expect to be numeric are including numeric seperators (e.g. 2,606 instead of 2606). On my Windows machine, I've made some configuration changes to try and reproduce this, but haven't been successful.

Do you have any ideas about settings on your system which could be linked to this ? If we can identify how to reproduce the situation then we should be able to find a resolution.

Can you be more specific with regard to the settings you're interested in? The files that failed to upload were all Inventor files or Inventor generated STEP files.

Hi Lew,

The settings I'm interested in are in the 'Region and Language' settings in the Windows Control Panel, I'm not certain where they are on a Mac computer (but I can find out if that is relevant for you).

Specifically, I'm interested in the Additional settings on the Format tab and the 'Language for non-Unicode programs' setting on the Administrative tab.
