timeline items disappear?

A large number of my timeline items have simply vanished. The objects still exist in the browser. "Show in timeline" does nothing, as far as I can see. Where could they have gone?

Is there any other objects in your timeline or it's clean now?

Please provide a screenshot so the community will have an idea of the situation.

Thanks. There are a lot of items in my timeline. There used to be a lot more, but now they are gone.

I'm afraid Fusion 360 is so slow right now I can't get anything to load for a screenshot.

Is there any chance that you have a component active? Try activating the root component at the top of the browser. Fusion hides timeline items that are not involved in the active component, this can reduce the number of items in the timeline, but they should come back when the root component is activated.

Thanks, that's a good suggestion. My problem seems to be more complicated. Bits and pieces of my workflow have disappeared from the timeline here and there. I have not figured out a pattern. Also I was using groups in the timeline and they have all disappeared. Here are some screenshots:

thanks for the update. Yes, that is not correct. It looks like it could be some problem with timeline groups. Do you know which version in your design's history had the groups? If you could share the design with us, we can maybe figure out what happened.

When you say that things are missing, are there actual features (as opposed to groups) that are missing? That would be really bad. Missing (expanded) groups are bad enough, but those can be re-created. If you actually lost functional features, wow...

If you do a Compute All, does the design more or less compute correctly? I see by the second picture that there are some warnings - are these related to any missing data?

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for having a look. There seem to be features (construction planes, sketches) that are missing from the timeline. The file had groups almost from the beginning and now they are gone. The design looks ok; nothing is missing from the browser. I was experiencing really slow performance so didn't have a chance to try and correct the warnings.

thanks, I'll take a look at it. If you know of specific work geometry or sketches that are missing if you can point them out, it might help me narrow down the search a bit.

Never mind, it's quite obvious - the first set of 4work planes, for example. They are there in the timeline in the older version, but not in the latest version, yet are still in the browser. Hmm... OK, we'll take a look. Thanks for sharing the designs.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks a lot! I'm glad it was obvious. I was trying to re-loft the left chainstay because I needed to move the intersection with the dropout, and couldn't find my workplanes in the timeline. On refleciton, there must be a better way to model the chainstay so I can move it without re-creating it.

Hi Jamie,

Good news and bad news. The (relatively) good news is that the timeline items are all still there. And, they can be recovered. However, it requires an undate to Fusion. The bad news is that this fix did not make the about-to-be-released version. So, it will make the following release, which is currently planned for February. When this update happens, all your timeline items will come back.

In the meantime, I hope you can still continue to work... The design is otherwise OK, and you can do some limited editing using the parameters dialog.

The background on this bug (thanks for finding it, by the way) was that it was a problem in an early implementation of timeline groups. So, because this design was first started in that timeframe, and you were an early user of timeline groups, this problem showed up in your design.

Thanks a lot for solving this problem. I was flummoxed.

Thanks also for the honest information. I may just start over after the next update today; I'm not working on a deadline, and the main layout needs to be improved (I'm still learning--just discovered the "include 3D geometry" option hidden in the sketch menu). Most of the work is in the dropouts, and I can import them,
