Greetings all,

I had a thought today that I'd like to do some Fusion design competitions. I figured I'd throw one out there and see if people are interested or not. I have no prizes to offer, I see it as an opportunity to learn more Fusion tools and techniques.

BACKGROUND:

Multirotors are remote controlled aerial vehicles that use three or more rotors of equal size for vehicle control. They are used for recreation, video capture, and are very agile. Multirotor parts are available from hobby shops and they can be built in a home workshop.

Here is a video:

Here are some common layouts:

REQUIREMENTS:

Must use the required (attached) parts, the Rotor Assembly and the Payload

Must have a minimum of 3 rotors

Chassis should weigh less than 1.0 pounds per rotor. (3 rotors = 3.0 lbs)

Motors must be mounted by all four threaded holes on bottom
Payload must be located in the center of the chassisSee attachments for the files you will need!

EXTRACURRICULARS:

Please post a screencast discussing your modelling or design strategy!
Please set the material for each part and record the total weight (The included parts have negligible weight)

REQUIRED PARTS:

Attached to this post as a *.zip file are the parts you will need; the Rotor Assembly and the Payload.
