You can use the colors of the axis to keep track of XYZ. The axis point "lean" in the positive direction.

Thanks to @MichaelAubry in the below forum thread.. I use Roy G Biv to remember "who's on first."

Red is X

Green is Y

Blue is Z

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/general-fusion-360-questions/z-axis-up/td-p/5445468

To see the axis, toggle the visibility of the origin in the Model Browser. You can do this for root workspace or for a particular component from the model browser.

Does that help at all? Do you have any difficulty with discerning between the axis?

One other thing I would like to mention is that you can quickly change the View Cube's "orientation" or how it is labeled, by right clicking on the View Cube and using the Set current view to as commands (Top or Front).

One last thing I would mention is that you could create a "template" that you could open to start a new workspace. To do this, you would configure a Design as you would like to see it and Save it. When you are ready to start a new design, you could open the design from the data panel and perform a Save As to get started. This would prevent you from having to change settings everytime you started a new design.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
