Hi,

Coming from SolidEdge nothing was history based (at least in Synchronous mode). You put things in an assembly and massage them until everything is good.

When I try to do certain things in Fusion, I cannot because of the history method of doing things.

https://screencast.autodesk.com/Main/Details/e2a4b4d8-26b9-4bb9-b38c-5905267548c9

How can this task be done in Fusion so that it is exact?

Hi Luke,

I’m not sure if I understand the purpose correctly. It looks like you want to adjust the height of the cylinder to snap to the face of the transparent component. Is it right? If so, a quick way could be using the Press/Pull tool, dragging the manipulator then clicking on the desired face to snap, as shown in the first half of the screencast below.

As an alternative, we can align the two components first then adjust the height of the cylinder. When aligning the two components, we can select the opposite circular edge of the cylinder to define the joint. Through this way, the gap between the two components are controlled by the offset value in the joint dialog. We can then adjust the height of the cylinder and no need to consider the impact to the gap. Please refer to the second half of the screencast below.

Best Regards,

Thanks Nicolas,

I hate that I have to add complexity to the history by adding operations instead of editing the original features.
