Please attach your MODEL so the Forum users can create Animation Drawings from it as a test. If the model is propriety, create on that is not which demonstrates the same issue. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

I have a drawing set that is based on a model i've been working on for some time.

I'm new to the animations. I had an exploded model setup, tagged, etc.

I reopened the file this morning to discover my animations had disappeared. I created a new on in the file and tried to place it on a drawing but only the previous representations are visible--Storyboard 1 and exploded view. I keep adding storyboards but they don't appear as a representation in the drawing.

any thoughts? I'm worried something is corrupted in the file and the animations component is not working properly.

When creating a Drawing from an Animation, you select the Storybook you want on the sheet. If you are using a Subscription Fusion 360 license you can create another view, of a different Storybook, on the same sheet or another sheet. If you are using a Personal License, you can only create a Drawing with a multiple Storybooks from those listed in your Animation. Below is a sequence of creating a second Storybook in the same drawing on the same sheet using a Subscription license. Below that is the resulting drawing.

Edit: Correct my statement about a Personal License capability (I think, do not have that type of license to check.)

Hi @p0093924

The drawings environment references the last saved version of the model (& animations workspace). It sounds like you have not been saving your changes.

Try this: make an animation, save the file, go to your drawing. In the drawing, there should now be a yellow triangle towards the top left of the application. This is indicating that the model has changed, and that an update is available. Clicking this icon will pull through the latest version. You should now see your latest animation.

Hi @ClintBrown3D and @jhackney1972
thanks for replying. I've been working with this multi-sheet drawing for some time and I'm familiar with the updates--its been working great for normal views as well as the exploded until it suddenly wasn't. I tried copy-pasting a text box from one drawing to another and Fusion froze. I went out and several hours later it was still frozen so I killed the file and I suspect this is where the problem started.

I tried created a new 3D file and a new drawing referencing that 3D file and the animation views come across. when i save and reload. In my existing file, this doesn't happen. the latest animations won't pull through.

When I do the Create New Drawing, the menu references the new animations and allows me to select the storyboard but it shows a defunct view when created. Additional experiments based on @jhackney1972 :

From the 3D file, create new drawing from animation into existing drawing and existing sheet. No change--view produced is a now non-existent animation. (I deleted all previous references in this sheet to old views in the tree)

From the 3D file, create new drawing from animation into existing drawing with new sheet. No change. view produced is a now non-existent animation.

From the 3D file, create new drawing from animation into new drawing. No change. view produced is a now a non-existent animation.

I've gotten the attached image after I do an update to the animation, save the file and try to drop a new view into an existing drawing. Something is getting corrupted somewhere--I'm worried it's coming from my 3D file.

Update:

I now have 3 animations. I want the 2nd. When I create a view from the third, I've gotten the second when placing into a new drawing/sheet. It is not part of my existing drawing but at least I have something now that I can use. I'm not sure this is stable. I would prefer to use exploded views in my existing drawing.

Is there some kind of 'repair' to a 3D file?
