I got the model from here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:77734

The step file had a lot of other stuff in it I had to delete. It was actually pretty hard to delete everything else. ting

I'll try deleting the face and see if that works.

How can I fill in void circled below? BTW, This model was originally imported from a STEP file. Here's a link to my model: http://a360.co/1JLI2qL

Hi, Scott!

Thanks for the question - I just downloaded the model I think I'd delete a face and sketch-extrude to fill the hole. I'm making a quick screengrab now to show this.

You said this was originally a STEP file - was the void there originally?

Thanks!

Hi Scott,

Just use Delete command on the face in the small void/pocket and that should delete the face and heal the model to the way you would expect.

In the picture below, the wireframe view shows the face you need to remove. Since this face is hidden, select the outer face and hold the mouse down to see the selector to select objects that are not in the view. Once you have the face selected, use the Delete command. This will give you the result as in the other picture.

Gautham

(Autodesk)

Much better choice, Gautham!

I was going to suggest a boundary fill, but this was such an easy fix with a deletion!

Scott, out of curiosity, where did the model come from originally?

Thanks!
