Quicky find operations in the timeline

I've got quite a complex model going on and the timeline is getting very long. It is no longer practical to keep clicking on the timline operations until i find the one i need.

If i right click on a fillet on the model, and click show in timeline, nothing happens. How can i use the model to find the associated timeline operation?

I suspect that the missing piece here is that you have a face selected, and the items in the timeline are features. You need to use Select Other (hold down the left mouse button for a couple of seconds), then switch to the Parents tab and select the feature. However, I found a bug in the process - Find in Timeline does not work with Feature selections!! The workaround, though, is that once the feature is selected, it is easy to find in the timeline by scrolling.

I'll put together a quick screencast - I just need to find a model with enough features in it.

And I will file the bug about Find in Timeline! Sorry about that.

I cannot get this to work with the suggested workaround.

On a smaller model this appears to work, but it does not seem to work with this one. See ScreenCast below.

Hi @neljoshua. Sorry again for the delay in responding (honestly, I was not just avoiding your posts!)

The answer to what you are seeing is a bit specific to Fusion. I actually did not even think about this until I saw your post/video. But, there are multiple kinds of objects in Fusion. Bodies, Components, Joints, Sketches, etc. Some kinds of objects are represented in the browser, and some are represented in the timeline. Actually, only Features are represented in the timeline. In the list of objects in this video, there are these types of objects:

Later in this video, you have selected a Component. But, when you use Find In Timeline, a Component object is not an item in the timeline, so it can't find it.

Now, there are several bad things that Fusion does here:

If the selection is not a timeline object, "Find in Timeline" should not be enabled
At the very least, you should get some kind of error at this point "selection is not a timeline item"

I'd consider that a bug, and I'll file it. Thanks for pointing it out to us.
