topic Draft cylinder face to exact same angle as another face in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

I am trying to make a draft at the end of a rod so it is total planar with a the other, horizontal, end of the rod (see picture).

Of course I could just measure the angle that it needs to be, and then use the draft tool and enter the angle. But I believe there must be a smarter way of doing this!?

Hope someone can tell. Thank you

Mads Eg

Yes, just cut it off 😉

In essence:

Draft the angled cylinder past the horizontal line where you want it to be cut off.

Create a new sketch on the end-face of the straight cylinder and draw a rectangle

Press-Pull out the rectangle to a block. You should already see the to-be-cut-off entnd of the angled cylinder showing up in red indicating that there is interference between the block. While doing so please pay attention to the options availabl in the littel pop-up window when pres-pulling the box.

Once you click OK, the box should have cut off the angled end of the cylinder.

Hi,

One other thing you could do is,

1. Create an offset plane (distance of zero) from the tube's planar face that is horizontal.

2. Select Modify > Replace Face

3. Select the angled planar face of the tube as the Source

4. Select the offset plane as the Target

best regards,

Sanjay Jayabal.
