I had the same earlier today, I reset to default layout (View Menu) this fixed it for me.

Hello Everyone,

Does anybody else also frequently needs to do File Menu > View > Reset To Default Layout because the Timeline and Browser are not showing correctly, unfortunately I can not reproduce it. Just happens from time to time.

Browser looks like this when the Timeline is no longer visible.

Hi Ludo,

We haven't been able to reproduce this issue internally, so are looking for a little help to discover what is happening. Our first suspicion is that this bug could be linked to changing screen resolutions or monitor configurations. Do you regularly switch your display setup and is it possible that this is the trigger for UI elements going away ?

Yes, it seems this problem started after the update, just received the latest patch so we'll see if this problem occurs or not.

From my experience, this error likely happens when Fusion is turned on after it crashed

Hello Matt,

Two days ago I was indeed trying some display settings in Preferences (OpenGL Core Profile and high resolution display) and the Timeline issue did occur, but I noticed the Timeline disappear also after coming out of sleep mode and after restarts (after crash).

So not sure what is going on.

This started after the July update, never seen this before.

Will try some more without changing the display settings and report back.

Thank you for the quick feedback on this issue, as a follow-up request, when people next encounter this issue, could they grab a file from their system before using the Reset command. We store the last known screen layout of your controls in the following file, and the missing controls are likely caused by invalid data in the file.

Please send the following file to me at matt.pooley@autodesk.com

Windows - %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Neutron Platform\Options\<Your User GUID>\NULastDisplayedLayout.xml

Mac - ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Neutron Platform/Options/<Your User GUID>/NULastDisplayedLayout.xml

Thank you to the people who have continued to supply information around this issue (especially Ludo who has been incredibly helpful). At this point we believe we know what is happening, with the issue being caused by a combination of Operating System, Screen Resolution and Language settings. So that we can be sure to test the combinations which cause this, could anyone who sees the problem please send me (matt.pooley@autodesk.com) the following information :

Operating System (Windows or OS X, plus version number)
Screen Resolution
Language and Locale settings in your Operating System

Thank you for your assistance (and patience) around this, we are hoping to have a fix available very soon.

Hello Matt,

For the moment, I did start F360 5 times and also 5 sleep's and wake up's, it seems that running the Open GL graphics driver instead of the OpenGL Core Profile fixes the Timeline disappearing.

OK, not a very extensive test but given that I had to "reset to default view" every time Fusion was started or came out of sleep, I think you're on the right track, or that, at least, the graphics driver has something to do with this issue.

Aah, if that's the fix, I'll live with it as core profile makes fusion usable for the work I usually work with (large assembly files).

Hopefully, we'll see a fix soon

Hi Everyone,

To provide an update on this, we have found that the trigger for problems is high resolution Mac computers where the OpenGL Core Profile is enabled. We aren't seeing a direct link to local language or locale. A fix is being investigated at the moment, but we are going slower than usual since the graphics driver is a critical area with a lot of potential for introducing other issues.
