Holes are one direction,

Extrudes can be bidirectional.

Countersinks can be Chamfers.

In your workflow, you would likely do 2 extrudes (through and clearance) and then chamfers to maintain your current thinking.

A Change in thinking / workflow, (to date you only needed 8 individual components)

Make one individual component, to finished state (Correctly using activation of components), and duplicating them.

avoid Component mirrors, (you don't have any right / left pairs) when patterns will do it.

Hi,

Sorry in advance this may be long winded I tend to add too much infomation.

I am trying to figure out the hole feature as I have in the past only needed to either draw a sketch with holes in it and extrude the hole sketch i.e. below base plate.

Now my learning is progressing and I am starting to draft larger designs with more components as appose to previously mentioned base plate.

To my current problem, I have to edit a drawing I have previously made to add some holes to a frame on both sides - So I figure create a sketch in the central plane and extrude is out both sides like below.

However the holes also need to be in the cladding panels, but a clearance hole size and countersunk.

I can countersink an extruded hole using the below feature, but I can only do one hole at a time, which is slow.

OR i can use the hole feature from the start on a sketch on the face I want to add the hole feature too? then Do I mirror the holes, that seems slow as well because I have do to it twice.

I hope that all made sense, if there is an easier way please let me know.

I have added a .f3d file so please have a look if you can. Sorry in advance I am self taught so there is probably a lot of things I could be doing easier, I am getting better all the time.

I have got into the habit of making each separate entity a component for use of the flat pattern function, which of course you can only have one flat pattern per component. Lot of the work we do has laser/plasma cut flat sheets.

I appreciate the help, using chamfers for countersinks is something I would have never thought of.
