If this was created with a Block command, you should be able to just right click on the block feature in the timeline and choose "Edit Feature", and you should be able to change the size to a precise number

Have you tried adding a dimension to the sides. If you're not in sketch mode right click on the square and from the menu select edit sketch, in your screen shot you are in sketch mode. Click the dimension tool and select a side and enter the size you want, at any time you can reedit the sketch, double click the dimension and change it.

Sorry, I didn't realize that you were talking abut a sketch rectangle, not a solid rectangle. @HughesTooling's answer is the way to precisely resize a sketch object. It sounds like it would be worth your time to go through some of the basic tutorials and videos for Fusion, to get beter acquainted with some of the basic concepts. The help menu is in th upper right corner of Fusion:

The "Learning and Help" menu will direct you to this website: http://fusion360.autodesk.com/learning/index.html that contains all kinds of useful content for beginners through advanced users.

Hopefully this will help you get going more quickly in Fusion.

Yes! Mark that was it. You the best! This is the kind of simple stuff people gloss over in the tutorials when they render jet engines and nuclear reactors in 3 mins. Now I need to be able to center the work when necessary. Im sure this is another simple op but again it seems to be so basic that I cant find anyone to explain it. In CAM I would just select all, then enter the command "center of points" or "center of extents" and its moved to the center of the grid. Im sure there's a way to do this in 360 but have yet to see it done.

There's a few ways to do that here's one way draw a line from corner to corner then use a mid point constraint, pick the line then the origin.

I can't tell what happened to your undo/redo for certain. A screen capture might help figure it out. However, here are a couple of easy things to try:

1. Reset the UI to its default layout. This is under the "file" menu. Hopefully this icon is sitll avaliable for you.

2. reset any toolbar customizations you might have set up. This is a right click anywhere in the toolbar. Execute both of these commands:

Other than that, it's hard to say what the problem could be.

Jeff

Hi,

1. change the dimensions in sketches and features (extrude)

2. When scaling*, everything including the wall thicknesses is scaled.

günther

SOLID > MODIFY > SCALE (uniform/non uniform)

günther

This thread has been very helpful, but I'm not able to do what it says. 😞 I created a shim by drawing a 25x32mm rectangle with 4mm radius corners and 3 holes, then extruded it to 2mm thick. I printed it and it's good enough, but the holes are slightly off centre and it could be about 1mm shorter on the 25mm side.

Instead of printing 3 more the same, I thought this would be a good exercise in getting it right. I put the dimensions on, but nothing I do will let me turn the "21 mm" into an editable box to make it 20mm. What am I doing wrong? I haven't even tried moving the holes yet.

Thanks.

when dimensions are in parenthesis like that it means the are being driven, and are only there to indicate what the dimension is. something else is actually driving the size. hard to tell from just your pic. is the the sketch you actually created the geometry from? (would be a good idea to attach your .f3d file to get specific help. starting a new thread would also be a good idea)
