I can't trim the sketch lines I want. When I hover over lines in my sketch, some turn red, but not the ones I want. See screencast:

http://autode.sk/1M3f0Vw

I also attached my Fusion file.

Okay, thanks. It's too bad you can't unlink/extract the pattern. I'll add that in as a feature request. I did try breaking the line then deleting the segment I didn't want, that worked. You'd think trim would work also.

Mark has right it's because of pattern. You need to remove pattern constraint, just hoover over pattern icon, click it when it will turn bluish and hit delete key. Now you will be able to trim them. Same is true for projected (intersecting) lines, to trim you need first break the link. In general if lines is something more then a line it carry some additional information you have to remove that reference.

I think the only work around would be to use points, make a pattern with points then use a coincident constraint between the points in the pattern and lines that are not part of the pattern. If you think about it the whole point of a pattern is all the items are the same.

Pattern is parametric in sketches, you can re-edit by double clicking on it icon. This is only reason why it can't be trimmed. Remove constraint, that's all.

To illustrate:

Ya know, I wish I could get the flow of Fusion 360 but I can't. I've spent hours and days watching Youtube and the training courses on the AutoDesk website. I seem to be wasting too much time. The program seems full of inconsistencies and incongruities ".. do this, but don't do that unless the three planets align", align, that's cryptic too.

I'm ok with AutoCad and super comfortable with Visio but I can't wrap my head around the way this was programmed. I'd love to be able to create my ideas on a powerful forum in the 3D world that was more user friendly. This is not it.

Thanks for your input.
