Last year there was similar discount, I'm not sure was it black friday or any other occasion, but still it looks like you can get fusion for $25/yr. Who gonna beat that?

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the startup/enthusiast free license and the commerical ($300/yr license)? I scoured the license agreements and other stuff on the web site but can't seem to find what the difference is in term of features, storage, etc... I am not using it commercially, I'm just a hobbiest, but at $25.yr I might actually buy it if there is any advantage.

@tomae there is no different. Fusion comes in two flavors fusion 360 and fusion 360 ultimate. One costs $300/yr second 1200$/yr, for today both have same features in future ultimate will get some more advanced features. Another thing is that for fusion 360 there a more then one licence, there is regular one $300/yr ( in black friday discount $25/yr) and startup/hobbyist/student licence which is free. So if you are hobbyist, student or your business gives you less then $100000, stay with free licence.

I called a sales rep the other day regarding this deal. There is a catch. According to the sales rep, it's $25/year for the first year only, then it goes to the usual $300/year. It could be considered the same strategy as an introductory offer. In my opinion, it's still a good deal at $300/year for any commercial application that it fits, so not a huge downside to purchasing at $25/year to discover if it is a good fit over the next 12 months, then either going for the $300/year or dropping the subscription if it's not useful.

There is no catch, you can get Fusion for just a month or a year, on autodesk store even for 2 or 3 years. When your licence is about to expire, you're at beginning of that process again. If you're lucky and on that time you'll see another discount you can get Fusion with discount. Subscription model is very different from just buying software, it's more like renting.

Have any early adopters of ultimate at $300 considered asking for a partial refund to hit the current $25 a year price?

Fusion Ultimate early adopter here... have not even once considered trying to get the $25 (other than additional seats for work). Pretty thankful for the $300/yr price actually. I got a personal license and we got 3 licenses at work. I believe I'm also responsible for a few other licenses around the valley here. It's a tremendous value.
