Cutting out Text

Hey All,

Having some problems trying to import a .pdf/.svg file that contains text that I would like to interpolate onto a sheet of .050" metal. Would it be easier to find the text, import it into Fusion, explode it, then do the CAM?

Or is there a way to project the image that I want, onto the sheet, then do my CAM that way?

If you can proviede some more detail on what these problems are it ill be easier to answer your question. You could attach that .svg to your next post.

Thanks for the response!

My main problem is I dont know the best way to "lay" the .svg file on the 8"x12"x.050" sheet. Then would I 2D countour or pocket, the letters out?

Attached is the .svg file im trying to lay on the sheet. It comes in huge, because the design was originally done on Adobe. I tried bringing it in and defining the X and Y to the size of the sheet, but didnt get any luck. I also tried doing a "patch"?

When you import for the XY scale enter 0.009090909 and it will scale to to right size. Fusion is not a lot of fun to work with on this sort of file though, there's a lot of short line segments and it really slows Fusion down

The scaling worked. Would it behoove me to try and join some of the lines together so there isnt so many small segments? Or will it matter not so much since I will be cutting the letters out, instead of engraving them? The amount of detail isnt that important.
