Trouble dimensioning a V-way on a drawing

I model a lathe bed profile and I want to show its dimensions on a drawing. For V-ways I need to dimension their full (imaginary) height as opposed to the apparent height. Apparent height is smaller because the ways are chamfered at the top. Here's what I'm trying to achieve:

Is it possible to create that imaginary point of intersection of the two sides of the way? Here are a sample design and the corresponding drawing.

A this point there is not a way to do this in Drawings - I can follow up once I have more information on when it might be available.

Hi @drillster - We're getting close to implementing the apparent intersection behavior discussed in this post and I was hoping you could help us

out with a few details.

So the Associative Apparent Intersection snap is coming - as a follow up to this we also wanted to make sure we got the intersecting extension lines right (shown in blue below)

Open questions:

Do you have a need for the intersection extension lines to display in some cases when there is not a dimension associated to them?

Could you give a brief description of how you'd like to see the extension lines would be added to the view?

If you have any additional thoughts on this please let us know!

Thank you for the update.

I'm not an engineer. I guess there should be a standard way of drafting such features. One possible way would be to allow the users to extend any existing lines in a drawing. That is, allow to add a thin line collinear with an existing thick line, or a thin arc with the same center and radius as an existing thick arc. Then allow to dimension those thin lines or their intersections. I imagine this would be both easy to use and very flexible.
