topic symmetric constructionplanes in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

Hi,

I modeled myself into a little pickle here whereby I have a contruction plane that positions an important part of my model. The plane itself is constructed out of edges that are being replaced by the new part of the model, so if I where to delelete the old parts, the new parts would loose their reference and vanish as well.

The construction plane is parrallel to one origin plane so I could just get myself a new ofset plane but the offset plane is not symmetric, so when I change the reference plane of the aforementioned part, the whole sketch shifts to the center of the unsymmetric plane. I tried moving the sketch into the right absolute position but its somehow contrained to the new unsymmetric plane.

Is there a way to either:

-get a symetric origin plane that doesnt hang to one side?

OR

-constrain the sketch to moving only along a certain axis while changing planes? / why cant I position the sketch freely on the new offset plane?

Cheers

I figured it out. at least how to position the sketch on the new plane. I choose a different anchor ppoint for the move command and that allowed my to move freely.
