I made that video.

Once you are in the Sculpt environment, right clic into the open area and the pie-menu comes up. select "Face" and pick 4 points on the grid to define the face. Close the command by pressing the escape button.

Right click again into the open space and select "Edit form". Then select an edge. The 3D manipulator will show up on the center point of that edge allowing you to manipulate that edge, e.g. change it's location, rotation and scale. If you hold down the ALT key while moving the manipulator it will extrude an additional edge from the existing one.

Hey Guys,

i have a problem that is driving me nuts. I saw this video where someone models a guitar using T-Splines in sculpt mode.

I have linked the video. You can see that he will create a simple plane with no subdivisions. Then he starts extruding and new subdivions are added.

I cant get that done myself!

I dont know what to do? Could be something in the settings, because as you can see in the video it is pretty straight forward via the Edit-Face Command.

I hope someone can explain this to me!

Im really happy to see that this is somehow possible. Ive always avoided the sculpt environment because ive tried this before and because it didnt work and i thought its not possible. Glad to see it somehow works!

Reviving an old thread, I'm trying to modify - edit form, select edge and holding alt key, dragging with the left click to create a copy edge, but somehow for me this trick does not work. My alt key is working, but in fusion does not want to work. There are any tricks/settings which should I know to create another copy edge with the alt key?

Thanks

You are actually extruding new polygons in that screencast. If you turn on Box view mode and set shading to shading with visible edges you'll see that.

To get the twist, you have to enable "Soft modification" in the "edit form" UI and then pivot the selected edges.
