Still have a massive amount to learn, but thought id share my progress .

I really like how that kayak ia coming along!

The "blue thing" could use a little TLC only for the porpose of spiffying up the render.

No real physical object has these mathematically precise and sharp edges . If you put a (very) little fillet on all of the edges of the model you'r be surprised how much better that render looks.

The way light reflects of these surfaces provides subtle highlights that make a big difference.

Looks fantastic, @Anonymous! You have, indeed, come a long way in a very short time. Thanks for sharing those images with us. It is really gratifying to see such cool designs created with Fusion.

Thanks for feedback guys .

my biggest issue is using the "crease" function. I need to be able to put sharp edges in various areas , partucullarly on the hull/deck join, but the sharp edhe only runs from just behind the cockpit back, If i use "crease" over anything less than a full circuference "edge" i get nasty distortions at the end . Any way to overcome that?

That is some eye candy!

Turn on the timeline recording if you've not done so already.
Keep the crease over the full circumference. Leave the Sculpt environment with "finish form"
Then you need to convert the T-Spline into a solid body (BRep)
and apply a variable radius fillet. I don't think you can go down to 0 but imperceptibly small 😉

With the timeline turned on you can still edit the T-Spline without loosing the variable radius fillet, provided ypou keep the edits in that area witin reason.

Now you have discovered some of the distinctive powers of Fusion 360, again, if you've not already done so 😉

Ok, so ive gone back to my last "pre finish form" edit

How do i turn on "timeline recording" please ?

While it looks like it is turned on in your screenshot there are two ways to check and change that.

1. the small gear symbol in the lower right corner will allow you to change this. If it only suggests to turn it off, that means it is turned on.

2. You can right click on the root of the browser and the menu will also alloww to tunrn it on/off. Again if it suggests you can turn it off it means you currntly have it turned on.

However, once you have recorded events in teh timeliine and you turn it off it converts all of the information into direct modeling features and you cannot get those back bt turning timeline recording back on. It will only record from that point on forward.

I just tried what I suggested above. You don't need to convert the T-Spline. You can just select "Modify->Fillet" and then select the edge you want to fillet.

Then you need to chenge the setting in the pop-up Window from"Constant radius" to "Variable Radius" and play around with that. Set it to "G2" as well.

Also, please accpept my apologies for my utter ignorance of kayaking, but what is the front and what is the back ?

If you are refering to the edges selected you are correct, I don;t think you can fllet these. But hten thoseare not the creased areas, or at least it does no look like that in your screenshot.

It looks to me the bottome edge of the kayak is the area in need of the fillet and there you should be able to do it.

IF the selected edges in the screenshot are not the area you want to fillet and the botom edge is also not what you want to apply the fillet on, could you draw in the area you want to fillet per hand ?
