I saw mention of full screen mode, and found mention on another CAD forum that Control-Shift-F should make Fusion go into full screen mode. I tried that and it did not seem to do anything when I was in the modeling space. I searched all over the place in preferences, help, and forums here and came up dry. If there's such a feature, it sure is well hidden.

My expectation is a mode something like Adobe Acrobat in which the menu bar retreats and gives me some more screen real estate. Am I missing something?

I am on a MacBook Pro with latest OS and latest Fusion.

Full screen is control-command-F

You can also get to it from the Fusion 360 Mac OS menu (not the menu above the toolbar/ribbon in the app) View->Enter Full Screen

In full screen mode the Fusion 360 Mac OS menu is hidden and the app expands to the full extent of the display.

Sorry, but there is no View>Enter Full Screen menu item on my machine. Also, control-command-F does nothing.

Sounds like it's some sort of issue with your system. It works here on a Macbook Pro 13", and iMac and a Mac Pro. I have had some issues with displaying Fusion and a browser where the Mac menu bar did not have any options and attempting to switch to the browser always lead to Fusion in the forground. I had to quit both and relauch and it worked after that. I should get around to opening a ticket.

Here's a couple of screen caps of what the expected behavior should be...

There are no menu items below Reset to Default Layout on my machine. It is also bizarre that there are two Enter Full Screen selections on the menu dstevenslv screen-grabbed, one with shortcuts and one without. Maybe he got an extra one that belongs to me 😉

The Feb 3 update fixed it. Now I have Enter Full Screen as a View menu option, and it works. Thanks!

Good grief, now the Enter Full Screen menu choice is gone again! It's the same machine running the same version with same additional apps running in the background. The only differences are that I am on a different, hardwired network instead of my home WiFi, and I have a second screen attached to give me some more real estate. Dragging Fusion to the other screen makes no difference - the menu choice at the top of that screen is gone, too.

Nonetheless, I think the issue has something to do with the second screen, because if I unplug it and restart Fusion, the Enter Full Screen choice returns. In addition, as soon as I plug in the second screen, the choice vanishes. The second screen is not a mirror, but set up to abut the top of my laptop screen.

" and I have a second screen attached to give me some more real estate."

There is a reason for this. On OSX 10.9 and 10.10 there is no option to go into full screen while connected to a second monitor. Are you on one of these OS?

The reason is to avoid a crash. We decided to remove the option. How big is your second monitor?

Thanks,

Yes, I am on OSX 10.10.5 Yosemite. That explains why I am having this issue, and it is understandable. My second monitor is a Dell U2410 1920x1200, graphics is AMD Radeon R9 2048 MB.
