Vector .SVG to fusion and extrude a small amount

hello!

i have been trying to do this for several days now...

and have created any vector image in coreldraw, which in this case is BOY.SVG
i would like to extrude just the outer lines and some of the inner pieces such as his eyes and mouth and nose....etc

this is pretty much what i want to do here (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1202702)

my problem is that i cannot seem to get just the outter lines selected it selects his entire face...

also when importing the .svg i get this error "Warning: Sketch1 Compute Failed" "some sketch curves cannot be converted to profile edges"

i need help with this, it is driving me insane... will be doing this to probably a million different images when someone slaps me with the answer..

I found a couple of problems with your SVG. First all the curves are doubled, one on top of another curve. I don't know if you can fix this in the program you exported from but the only fix in Fusion is to pick each line one at a time and delete. I think this is causing the error you see. As you're new to Fusion pick any line in the file and keep the mouse button down for a couple of seconds and you'll see the problem.

The second problem you have is an open contour, I drew some lines across the part to narrow it down. Here's the problem with a circle around the break in the profile, the double line problem might be at the root of this by the way. Here's a link to some info on finding breaks in profiles.

With the circle the profile highlighs correctly.

I just exported your file to Rhino selected all the duplicate lines and removed them then exported as a DXF. I still got an error but found deleting the short curve highlighted in the circle above and replacing with a line it fixed the profile and I can now extrude OK. What units are you working in and how tall is the figure meant to be, I scale to the correct size in Rhino and upload the DXF if that helps.
