I have only seen this with one model I did and the way I solved the problem was to switch my units to mm before exporting the obj. Not sure if this will help you but give it a shot.

Hi All, I created a 1 cm cude and 10 cm cude all around the origin in Fusion for scale reference in other software (Rhino3D, ZBrush)

When I export the files as .obj they move slightly from their origin. When I export as .stl, they come in correctly.

Any thoughts?

Best,

Andrew

I don't have Rhino3D or Zbrush to test with, but if I do a Save As OBJ and then re-insert the OBJ into Fusion 360, the cube appears to be in the correct location. When you say it moves slightly off origin, could you clarify what that means?

Thanks,

This is what I get in Rhino, as you can see from the bounding box info both cubes are centred.

Hadn't noticed the file was in CM so thought I'd better test importing into Rhino set to CM as well, still no problem.

Well Zbrush uses object space coordinates not world coordinates so in Zbrush this is a moot point.

And to be honest I have only seen this once and it was in my 3d printer software.

I don't own Rhino so I can't say anything about that, but Mark knows what he is doing so if he tried it in Rhino and it works then there is something else a miss here.

I think I was able to see the error.

I had exported the 10CM cube as a .obj before Finishing Base Mesh. (resulting in an offset model)

I then Finished Base Mesh and the cube exported to the correct original location.
