Weird background image reflections???

Hi all,

did anyone ever notice these weird reflections when zooming in? Could this be the source of slowness in Fusion perhaps???

No, just the IBL lighting environment. You can get different lighting environment images in different environments. You must have Photo Booth enabled. It uses the Old Warehouse IBL image.

Weird 🙂 maybe a 'flat' lighting environment could give a performance boost...

You could always try one of the ones that doesn't have a picture in it. 🙂

IBL lighting is more efficient than programmatic lighting.

I have a very complex model that doesn't need realism, just speed... 😛

No there is no place to change it other than changing environments.

Not sure why you think it's slowing anything down. As I said, it's more efficient.

Have you:

Turned off all graphics effects.
Turned off the grid.
Disconnect second monitors.
Make most objects unselectable.
Turn off visibility of objects that don't matter.
Make the Fusion window smaller than your monitor.
Use linked components wherever possible.
Etc.

It sort of depends on what is slowing you down. If it's graphics, then make stuff not visible. If it's CPU, then link things wherever possible. I'm sure I'm missing a few performance enhancing tips for you, so maybe some other users can chime in as to what they do.

yes, tried all that... but as I said, it is a complex model... guess I can live with some sluggishness for this one 🙂
