Hi Peter

thank you for the fast respond. I already did that with small objects . But when i have bigger boards or objects, Fusion is close to collapse when i start to move or modify it. Find attached a screenshot of a chopping board from underneath, which consist of many single body layers. Its not about the work, its just too much for fusion or my computer.
There must be a way to create the same 3D Texture for plywood as it is already existing for solid timbers.

Hi

i would like to know how i can create a realistic 3D Texture Material such as the fusion 3D Wood Materials, but for plywood! I have already tried to import the appearance of the edges (stripes) as an image. Mainly, I am focused on the striped appearance of the edges because I use it to create patterns during milling. I would like to know in advance how the patterns will look, but for that, I need 3D ply wood. So with which software i can actually create those 3D wooden texture?

I would actually model this. Create the plywood component. Then split the solid body in that component into separate bodies for each of the layers. Then assign a different wood texture from the solid wood appearances.
You can rotate the textures with the texture map controls.

It can be tedious work, but this allows you a much more accurate visualization of the post-milled look than applying image textures to every edge face.

There must be a way to create the same 3D Texture for plywood as it is already existing for solid timbers.

There is a way to do this.

Open the appearance panel and drag one of the image based wood textures into the upper panel.

Right-click and duplicate it and rename the duplicate to your liking.

Edit the duplicate and replace the existing image texture with your favorite plywood-edge texture.

Select the the body in the viewport and select Texture Map controls from the menu.

Change it from Automatic to Planar and select the axis of projection.

Done!
