Hello Paolo,

to make your part number modification easier, I am offering API approach. It is ideal in sutuation when all your part file (xRefs) are stored in the same folder, means you can use multiopen. In this case click fisrt file in folder + shift click last one and choose open. It opens all selected files, all between first and last. Or click particualr files you want to open by clicking + Ctrl.

In general case, open assembly file and from browser open file (xRef) by file. When all you part files (xRefs) are open, close drawing, assembly file and let just parts (xRefs). Run the following macro. It
- Removes version from PartNumber

- Saves file

- Close all files

Then you have to open assembly file + Get All Latest to refresh all links (xRefs) + save. Open drawing file + Get latest to update parts list

Unzip macro PartNumberCutVersion.zip and in Fusion pres Shift+s to open macros dialog, click "+" and browse the folder where you unziped PartNumberCutVersion.zip

Regards

Is there an option to hide the version # of an externaly referenced part, in the BOM of an assembly?

Here is an expample:

Part #6 was created in the assembly file of my drawing, however part #7 is an externaly referenced part.

Hi Paolo,

second row you see in the PartsList (image you posted) is not part version, but it is quantity - count of the same inserted components. Also there is no way (so far) to modify/select PartsList columns

Good morning paolodrossi44 -

The Part Number field in a BOM is driven from the Part Number field in Properties. You can change by:

For a linked Component try opening that component > Right Click on the top level assembly > Properties

Remove the Version number from the Part Number field. Save and update making sure the higher level assembly is referencing the changes you just made in part #7.

Let me know if that helps!
