Create Drawing with no Model?

Hello all!

I had a strange thing I needed today - a drawing page that had no model attached (basically, it was to be a notes only page, with no model reference). All I needed was text and the title block.

I had to create a fake model (a small square) and create a drawing from that, than delete the model view on the drawing, to actually get an empty drawing page.

I'm sure there's a better way so....What would it be? How can I create a drawing page with out creating a model first? Or am I just asking something very strange?

Thanks!

I don't think this is a strange ask, but it is something Fusion can't do today. In Fusion, 2D drawings, animations, renderings, or toolpaths, are considered children of the parent 3D design. Without the parent, there is no child. I'm curious to see if there are other community members that would like the ability to create empty 2D drawings...if there is, I'd recommend this topic be posted in the IdeaStation.

Hi, Its been a few years since this question. Has there been any changes made to Fusion 360 to allow 2d drawing with no model yet?

Hi @Anonymous ,

i would like to suggest a small betterment here;

view placement is not a mandatory step.

instead of creating the views and delete it, someone can cancel base view command and get the empty drawing.

[this will also help to keep the browser node empty]
