Hello XJ,

Sorry for the delayed response, but we've been working on your issue in the past week or so. We've identified the reason why your assembly has unresolved components. Here is a likely scenario:

- Open an assembly
- Assume the network is bad, due to which there was a problem downloading one of the referenced files
- The assembly opens with a warning about an unresolved component
- Ignore the warning, edit the assembly and save
- Close and reopen

The assembly will now open in an unresolved state even if the network connectivity is good.

Unfortunately, saving the assembly in an unresolved state will permanently leave that assembly in an unresolved state. We're debating whether to disable save on such assemblies, or simply warn the user about it, but still allow him to save it. Let us know your thoughts.

At this point, unfortunately, your bad assembly cannot be repaired. Our apologies for the inconvenience. I hope you'll be able to continue by promoting a previous version.

Thx
Ahsan

Hi,

Recently I got this error quite often. Usually happens when I change back and forth between offline / online modes or the network connection is not good.

Some linked components randomly lost. My workaround was to delete the errored components and and them back again. But ... it is pretty annoying. I found someone mentioned they have the same problem.

So would it possible to know why ? And how to fix it?

Thx!

Hi there,

Thanks for the diagnostic files. I'm seeing that a lot of the web service calls are repeatedly failing for you. As you mentioned, this could be attributed to the flaky network. May I suggest that you switch over to manual Offline mode (through the "Work Offline" command), and only come to online mode when needed.

The design you sent is already in an unresolved state. Is it possible for you to send me the previous version of that file?

Thx
Ahsan

Hi Ahsan,

Unresolved component appears again in one of my other design. This time network conditions are good.

This time I just updated Fusion360 according to the update notification and restarted.

Then I saw some references are missed in my other design.

Hi there,

We've identified a potential problem when downloading files with Chinese characters. Now, certainly it doesn't happen with all files with Chinese characters. Only with some specific ones. However, we're yet to narrow down on what causes this. If you notice this issue always with a specific set of files, please do let us know. We're going to investigate a fix in a forthcoming release.

Hey Ahsan,

I've also run into this issue, although I don't have any special characters in my file names. I ran into the issue yesterday when the update was being made and I had to go offline.

I've attached the diagnostics, I hope that they help you in finding a solution.

In the mean-time, I've promoted the previous version and the references are not broken in it. Let's see if

it is fixed. But I learnt from forum, that one should keep components a linked one only

if it is really necessary. Otherwise just break the link. So I'm keeping this as a principle for

assembly.

BR,

XJ

Code has now been added in Fusion to detect these situations (where we have unresolved components) and warn the user when (s)he tries to save/save-as/export the file. The user will then have the choice to cancel out of the save. Thanks for the inputs.
