I know there is no App per se, but I can't find anyway to restart it. It's not in the Support Library, doesn't show up in Spotlight, just gone. Was working fine before I quit. Anyone else experience this? Cant' find any forum events.

Hi,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community forum!

I have a couple questions for you.

Did you install from Mac App Store?

If so, look in the applications folder.

Did you delete the icon from your dock?

If so, there are ways to restore it. Or you could do a clean uninstall/reinstall and get it back.

Thanks,

Thanks for the quick response.

Installed from Autodesk download. Spotlight shows no Fusion 360 app of any
kind anywhere on disk, except the uninstaller. I tried to force the app
icon to stay in the dock, but it went away when the app quit.

Possible cause: When I first installed and the warning about unrecognized
developer came up, I whitelisted the installer in the security panel of
System Prefs. That may have enabled a single open event as opposed to an
unlimited opening. I saw that there is a work around for this warning that
involves using the get info process in the finder. I'll try that next time
unless someone knows a better way.

G

You should be able to do the installation this way:

1. Enable applications from any developer.

2. Install Fusion 360.

3. Change your System Preferences back to a more restrictive state.

Can you try that? Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

It seems to be more stable now, but the app is still difficult to find through Spotlight for some reason.

I resolved this by the Find the File in Finder option after right clicking the icon in the dock. I then made an alias of the app which was buried in many subfolders, and put the alias on the dock. I am hoping this solves the problem once and for all. Though I am reluctant to quit the app at this point to test it, since it has been a half hour reinstall process on my slow iMac.

Thanks for the help.

It sounds like you are having unexpected troubles.

During installation a dock icon is created. Unless you delete it, it should never go away.

Are you saying that after installation you have no dock icon?

Thanks,

I tested it and the app stays in the dock. Seems to be working great. Turning off the app security during install was the trick.

Thanks and loving Fusion 360!

G

If you get the cannot install of any program not just F360 just right click the installer ( or two finger tap ) and select open this bypasses the security setting for this one install
